PETA campaign sees 13,000 scans and counting.
Working with McCann-Erickson Singapore, PETA has used stickybits to take their recent ad campaign beyond print and turn it into an interactive experience for anyone who scans.
The response to this innovative idea has been huge: thousands of scans in over 100 different locations in Singapore, along with a buzz of blogging activity.
Like the one shown above, each ad appears to promote designer deals. Yet when someone scans the barcodes, instead of finding a discount, they see a video exposing the animal cruelty involved in producing the items. The final frame leaves viewers with the message: “Know the real price. Shop responsibly.”
You can view the videos here and here. (Keep in mind they are fairly intense.)
We are thrilled to see brands use stickybits in creative ways. And according to 13,000+ scans, it looks like consumers are too.
